A smart man

A brother named Larry and a sister named Janet shared an apartment in the city near their respective places of work. After a lousy date, Janet throws down her purse, looks at her brother, and asks why so many men are so stupid and lazy. Larry, a geneticist, shrugs, and replies that it's genetics, that women only are attracted to stupid men, and so that garuntees women causing the stupid-man gene to be passed on. He tells her that the problem is so far reaching that no girl will ever marry a guy as smart as him or that will do as well as he will. Janet decides to take this as a challenge, and bets him that she can. The girl takes the challenge to heart, and decides she's going to marry a smart man. Changing her goals from brawn to brains, she finds thousands of men and very little compitition. Shortly she's married and moves out, and not only that, but her appliances always worked, there was always enough money, and her kids always did well in school. Her husband even took her away to live in an exotic country. It had been years since she saw her brother, and she called him up at his work number to brag of her good fortune, and to claim victory in their bet. However, she quickly found it hard to contact her brother, due to getting passed around the phonelines of a very large buisness. She hit many departments, and was surprised when she discovered her brother ran a genetics business and and he was much more successful than her own husband, and very active. Exasperated when finally connected, realizing how much her brother was over her husband, she asks him how he could have been so certain that she couldn't marry a man as smart as he. Larry replied, "He would have to say 'I do'."
